Ever since Donald Trump’s inauguration as US President, European governments have been worrying about the reliability of America’s commitment to their collective security. So, in order to protect their particular interests, should European states create an independent nuclear deterrent of their own? Oliver Thränert doesn’t think so and here are his reasons why.
