The decision to award the Nobel Peace Prize to the Geneva-based International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) appeared like a logical step at a time when fears of nuclear conflict between North Korea and Donald Trumpís U.S. dominate the political agenda. And yet, the organizationís track record also indicates how long the path toward a nuclear weapons-free world will be.
