North Korea is weak, the US is strong: Nuclear deterrence will work, if we let it

Since North Korea’s latest missile test, four powerful American voices have implied, in urgent terms, that a military strike to eliminate their nuclear and missile capabilities is a realistic option. U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley professed that “if war comes, make no mistake, the North Korean regime will be utterly destroyed,” and national security adviser H.R. McMaster warned that the chances of war were “increasing every day, which means that we are in a race, really, we are in a race to be able to solve this problem.”
